Homewreckers – Not My Business by Homewreckers

Yeah… sounds good already … just put´cha feet up … close your eyes … and … melt … to the sound of the Homewreckers. It´s the year 2008 and the location is any urban center in Germany where music lovers are holding a late-night basement party. It is one of those dimly-lit blue-light affairs, and the party has settled down to where the revelers have paired off into couples, tightly clasped together in a slow shuffle dance across the floor, while wafting through the air is the plaintive sound of the Homewreckers.

With its roots in 70s funk, hip hop, house music and smooth crooners like Sam Dees, the resulting combination of soulful moods over a powerful churning percussive rhythm section is hardly surprising in its impact. Soul for them is always a latent force. It is just that it is sometimes buried within a bleeping MIDI interface…

As a unit, the Wreckers are examples of the discipline and feeling that make modern funk our most difficult performance art. They also form part of the reaction against the arrogant sloth and snarling decadence that face us all, threatening to devour all craft and purity, and to push human beings into the hopper of hysteria, where they will be stripped of all but obvious responses. In that sense, their music is a declaration of war against the contrived and the worthless, a statement of elegance, optimism, compassion and of pride. And it shows how safe the warm soul of funk is in the winter of our world.

Tanzt kaputt, was euch kaputt macht! by straftanz

We are Straftanz. We scream freedom yet we are unfree. We are people without morale and discipline, yet you adore us when we sagaciously state the wrong. We are the soft concrete that offers good rest for your weary brains. We piss on graves to show you that parables are sometimes parabolic. We do not care for the cave paintings on the faces of the elitists. We put words to march in rows and hide explosives in between of them. We know that hand that held the chisel, but that does not mean that those words engraved in stone still have meaning for us. We steal from the strong, because we know: It is not about where you take it but about where you take it to. We feel part of a culture that is not “sub”, but we do not feel like to be rotten enough to drop any dogma without second thought. The elite trembles in fear, even though they still have no idea what we hung up above their heads. We are not crazy, not wise, not original, not ironic and we are not abstract. Straftanz is at home at Studio 600.

MC los mach dich schoen by merry chicklit

“Merry Chick Lit” is this slinky fabric with an overblown sympathy for divine stretchiness. Its complete ignorance for spatial dimensions gives Mary Poppins’ handbag a reason for abysmal depth. How else could all this women’s carry-on be transported while still feeling deep? Very Chick Lit is the notion that gives your good-vibrations pocket-lover a dolphin’s face. The notion that pukes confusion right in the sisterhood’s joint bedside cabinet.
Chicklit walks the dogma with a terrier-cloth-cushioned muzzle.
To be like Chick Lit means to use hellfire to warm up formal cookies and to cover the black spots with pastel-colored sugar coating. You’ll still taste the bitterness, yet you’ll talk about nuts.
